How to compare interior quotations accurately

Compare interior contractor quotations using the same bill of quantities, specifications, exclusions and delivery assumptions.

Use the same scope

Give each proposal the same brief, drawings and schedule of work. Compare quantities, specifications and included tasks line by line. Check whether procurement, transport, installation, protection and final cleaning are included rather than relying only on the headline total.

Identify exclusions and assumptions

Ask each team to explain exclusions, provisional quantities and items dependent on a site survey. Identify who is responsible for service interfaces and work by other parties. Resolve unclear descriptions before comparing prices.

Agree how changes will be handled

Discuss the programme, approval points, payment stages and how variations will be documented. Record the agreed scope before work starts. The objective is a proposal you can understand and manage throughout delivery, not simply the lowest initial number.
